This playful lacquer (大漆) object, created by Kevin, sits at the intersection of traditional craftsmanship and contemporary expression. It resists a single definition—both a decorative ring and a functional lid rest (盖置)—and invites you to decide how it lives in your daily rituals.

Made from natural lacquer, fabric, gold leaf, and copper, each piece is formed through an intuitive, open-ended process. The final textures and patterns are never fully controlled, allowing chance, time, and material to speak for themselves.

Like a river stone, the final form is guided by the maker’s intuition and the lacquer’s own will.
