This is a fascinating cup with a capacity of approximately 40ml. It is a plum blossom cup produced in Dehua during the late Ming dynasty. The shape is somewhat deformed, and there are some cracks on the cup, but the rim has been wrapped in purple copper, giving this cup new life. It is a perfect choice for wabi-sabi enthusiasts.
Wrapping the rim in purple copper enhances the white porcelain texture of the cup. Over time, the copper slightly darkens, adding a touch of temporal patina to the entire cup. Indeed, it is this beauty that makes it so special.
