Ash Mist Side-Handle Teapot
A Steady Hand for Focused Brewing
Handcrafted in Dehua by ceramic artist Huang Qiuyang, this side-handle teapot is shaped slowly by hand and finished in a wood-fired kiln. Ash, flame, and gravity decide its surface—each piece carries its own quiet landscape.
It is compact, calm, and intentional.
A teapot designed not to impress at first glance, but to stay with you through many sessions.
How It Feels
The side handle sits naturally in your palm, allowing a controlled, confident pour without lifting your shoulder or wrist.
Its low center of gravity keeps the teapot grounded, even when full—especially reassuring when brewing yancha or teas that demand precision.
The surface feels like weathered stone:
soft clay beneath drifting ash, with mist-like gray tones and spontaneous speckling.
Some areas are smooth, others gently textured—your fingers explore before your eyes settle.
This is a teapot that slows you down,
because it feels steady.
Why It Fits Your Life
- Made for Focused Gongfu Sessions
Around 100ml—ideal for 2–3 people, or a long solo session without distraction. -
Supports Expressive Teas
The breathing clay softens edges and carries aroma well, especially suited for yancha, oolong, and darker teas.
The dense clay and wood-fired finish help maintain the 'Rock Rhyme' (Yan Yun), preserving the high-fired intensity of Oolongs.
- Balanced, Not Delicate
The form is stable, the handle intuitive—made to be used daily, not handled cautiously. - Each One Is Different
Ash patterns are born in the kiln, not repeated—what you receive cannot be replicated.
Built for Everyday Brewing
- Side-handle design for controlled, precise pouring
- Stable form with a grounded center of gravity
- Wood-fired body suitable for regular use
- Develops character over time, not wear
This teapot doesn’t demand ceremony.
It simply makes every brew feel considered.
