There is a concept in art—and in business, for that matter—about the power of contrast. As a lacquer artist, I spend hours trying to balance the ruggedness of natural cloth with the sheen of polished lacquer. When I found this tea set for Best Ceramics, I saw that same perfect balance.

This isn't just a tea set; it is a conversation between materials.

The teapot features a body of warm, unglazed red clay, known for its ability to retain heat and smooth the texture of your tea over time. But the showstopper is the lid: a sculptural, organic form cast in a silver finish, resembling a withered lotus leaf resting atop the vessel. It feels cool to the touch, contrasting with the warmth of the tea inside.

Paired with this are two exquisite Celadon cups featuring the famous "Ru Kiln" iron-wire crackle glaze.
