Wabi-Sabi Antique Blue Plate

A—This is a late Qing Dynasty Dehua kiln hand-painted blue and white plate, featuring motifs of gourds and cloud patterns, and inscribed with the poem “一色杏花香十里” (yī sè xìng huā xiāng shí lǐ), which translates to "The scent of apricot blossoms fills ten miles." The exterior is decorated with a simple "王" (wáng) pattern and covered with a celadon transparent glaze. Despite some chips and damages from its century-long history, Kevin has skillfully repaired it with the Kintsugi technique. The slight wear on the glaze adds to its wabi-sabi aesthetic. In tea ceremonies, we love to use it as a teapot stand, but it can also serve as a jewelry dish or any other purpose you find suitable.

B—Similar to the first plate, this Qing Dynasty blue and white porcelain plate also holds a unique artistic charm. It features a delicate flower design at the center, symbolizing life and beauty, while the border is surrounded by a circle of flowing longevity patterns, representing wishes for a long and prosperous life. A hallmark on the bottom denotes its origin and craftsmanship. Although it bears signs of wear from its long journey through time, these marks only add to its historical charm. This plate can be used as a teapot stand in tea ceremonies, a collectible art piece, or even as a decorative dish to enhance your home.
