Avocado Lacquerware Tea Scoops

One day, while admiring the natural elegance of an avocado shell, I was struck by its unique potential as an art piece. Inspired by the delicate yet resilient structure, I decided to embark on a creative journey similar to my crab shell lacquerwork. This time, I carefully dried the avocado shell over the course of a month, allowing its form to set perfectly. I then layered it with fine Xuan paper, lacquer, and tile ash, adding gold leaf for a touch of brilliance. After three months of meticulous work, this avocado shell was transformed into a functional and artistic piece.

This lacquered shell is not just a stunning decorative object, but also a practical tool. Use it as a tea scoop to transfer tea leaves from a canister to your teapot or gaiwan, or let it hold coffee beans in your kitchen.
