B
Benjamin 1 S. The size and feel are truly perfect. The glaze texture is lovely to hold.
This small wood-fired cup holds about 30ml, made for unhurried sips rather than perfection. Its form is slightly clumsy—intentionally so—with a single carved line running around the body, giving it a quiet sense of movement and rhythm.
After nearly two days of wood firing at around 1300°C, the clay settles into warm golden tones, touched by natural wood ash. Each cup comes out a little different, shaped as much by fire as by hand. It’s a piece meant to be used, not admired from a distance.
Warm, Familiar, Unforced
The wall thickness is just right—substantial enough to feel reassuring in the hand, yet comfortable even with hot tea or espresso. The surface carries subtle textures from ash and flame, offering a gentle grip without effort.
It feels honest.
Nothing sharp, nothing precious.
Just a small pause you can hold.
Simple, but Not Ordinary
Its intentional lack of perfection makes it approachable—a cup that doesn't demand you to sit up straight, but invites you to lean back.
This is not a refined showpiece—it’s a cup that earns its place through use.
Some cups impress you at first glance.
Others grow on you, sip by sip.
This one belongs to the second kind.
