What Are Taiwu In-house Artists?
Inside Taiwu Gallery, our resident artists work across Dehua porcelain, lacquer craft, and metal rim KOU finishing—quietly shaping serenity into every piece.
Taiwu In-house Artists are a group of artisans and independent creators who work closely with Taiwu Gallery under a shared philosophy: objects are art meant to be used.
Their work spans porcelain, lacquer, metal (KOU), and contemporary teaware, each piece crafted by hand and guided by a calm, measured aesthetic.
Every artist maintains their own creative voice, yet together they define the visual language of Taiwu—quiet, refined, and human. All artworks are produced in small batches, fully handmade, and presented to collectors and tea lovers who appreciate authentic craftsmanship.
Our Artistic Philosophy
-
Stillness
A calm mind leads to honest work.
-
Craft
Tradition is respected, yet interpreted through a contemporary lens.
-
Spirit
Each piece must carry warmth, presence, and a human touch.
-
Purpose
Whether porcelain, lacquer, or KOU metalwork, everything is made to be lived with and used.
Meet The Artist
Kevin Yuan
Kevin focuses on lacquer, fabric/ paper-based forms, and KOU metalwork. His pieces preserve the natural textures of their materials—crab shell patterns, fabric fibers, the softness of paper—refined through subtle layers of lacquer. Quiet yet expressive, his works are made to accompany tea, books, and everyday rituals.
