Wabi-sabi is a Japanese philosophy that has been around since the 15th century. It came about as a reaction to the dominant trends of the time, which relied heavily on over-ornamentation, lavishness, and the use of rare materials. In direct contrast, wabi-sabi is all about finding beauty in imperfection.
This teacup is a Kaolin clay handmade and wood-fired by Huwen Xu. It’s a cup with a hexagonal shape, tall and small (Around 25ml capacity). You will be feeling the naturally crack glaze and the trace of a fire. And you may find an imperfection with it when you hold it. Also, it could be a unique teacup, as it is a wood-fired ceramics.
We like this cup to have gongfu tea, and it could be a very good cup for the type of smelling tea, like Yancha, Black tea, and whatever you like to.
